In this 1.5-hour class, taught by Rusty and Ingrid, students will learn the basics of watercolor painting, including techniques such as wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, various washes, brush techniques, color mixing, under-drawing, and layering techniques with the goal of building up a simple image.
A complete watercolor kit is available to pre-order online (see listings above) and individual art supplies will be available for purchase at the event, but students are welcome to bring their own materials if they have them. Students will be provided with watercolor papers, pencils, and water basins for the exercises. Recommended materials include a basic watercolor set that includes primary colors, a wide wash brush, a large round or flat brush (recommend 1/2” flat or #8 round), a #6 round.
Students will also receive access to our private Facebook community group to continue the conversations online.
This class is in-person at our Rockport shop, open to students ages 12 and up, and each session is dependent upon class-size, with a minimum of three, and a maximum of six participants required. Invite your friends!
Please note: Watercolor class kits are available for pickup at the time of the workshop. If you would like your kit shipped ahead of time, please select local pickup at checkout. We recommend arriving 15 minutes ahead of the workshop to open your paints.
